The Internet and selling your home

In this competitive real estate market one of our most powerful marketing tools to find buyers is through the internet.

The National Association of Realtors is reporting that 82% of real estate sales now begin with the internet.  It is also a fact that 54% more people use the Internet to find a home rather than using the newspaper.

Below is interesting data from our own Lake Havasu City Properties website since July 2007, only 3 months.

The number of people who actually entered our site was 9,945.  The number of different pages viewed by the people in our site was 16,336.  The states that inquired most in order were California, Arizona, Virginia, Colorado, Texas, New York, Washington, Ohio, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Nevada, Illinois and Minnesota.  The following are the different countries that viewed our site:  Kuwait, Republic of Korea, India, Singapore, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Denmark, Croatia, Philippines, Australia, Guam, Aruba and Canada.

The most popular days of the week when people are viewing our site is Monday and Tuesday and the lowest traffic day is Saturday. The most popular times are 8:00am and 3:00pm and believe it or not we had 102 people viewing the site at 3:00am, “hate to think what they were wearing”!

As you can see from the shear numbers above, the Worldwide Web is a very important marketing tool, however getting people to see your site among the 10 billion web pages is very difficult, costly and extremely time consuming.  Anyone can spend about $200,   design their own website and be one of the 10 Billion pages.  A good real estate website must be able to be picked up by the major search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN just to name a few.

If you are considering selling your home make sure your agent has a website that can actually be found in the billions of pages on the internet because having a website is useless if no one sees it.
