Many Canadian buyers have been contacting our company. Canadians are currently buying Lake Havasu real estate for several major reasons. The dramatic drop in real estate val
ues due to the subprime mortgage crisis and the high number of bank foreclosures has made all of Arizona an ideal place and time to invest. Lake Havasu is also a City that overlooks a spectacular Lake, has an average rainfall of 3.82 inches per year and an average temperature of 88 degrees or 31C. The average home value for the second quarter of 2008 was $252,636 down 18% over the same period last year. There are few Cities in the states where you can purchase real estate that overlooks a lake, has barely any bugs, low humidity, little wind, almost 365 days of sun in the mid $250,000 price range.
"After 16 years of selling real estate in Lake Havasu City I see this as an opportunity to invest in Lake Havasu now before prices start to escalate again, because once the housing crisis is over the core fundamentals for investment are still here." lake Havasu City is a new City by most standards. It has only been incorporated since 1978, but it actually got its start in the 1960s when inventor and entrepreneur Robert P. McCulloch, Sr. bought up large parcels of Lake Havasu real Estate to create a planned community. The acreage was adjacent to Lake Havasu, so McCulloch and his master planner, C.V. Wood, (who had Disneyland and Six Flags to his credit), began planning a community that could be turned into a recreational destination. In 1962, it was discovered that the London Bridge was "falling down." The City of London put the 130-year old bridge up for auction, Robert P. McCulloch, founder of Lake Havasu City, AZ, submitted the winning bid for $2,460,000 in 1968. McCulloch spent another $7million to move the London Bridge to Lake Havasu City which took a total of three years.http://www.lakehavasucityhomes.net/havasuhistory.php
